We collect only what we need to detail your car, and we never sell your information. Here's the plain-English version of how it works.

Clean Slate Mobile Detailing ("Clean Slate," "we," "us") is a mobile car detailing service based in Missoula, Montana. This policy describes how we handle information collected through our website, cleanslatecardetailing.com, including our online booking system.
When you book a detail, we ask for the information we need to show up and do the job:
If you simply browse the site without booking, we don't ask for any personal details. Like most small businesses that advertise, we do use one measurement tool — the Meta Pixel — to learn which of our ads bring people here. It's described in full under Advertising measurement below.
Deposits are processed by Square. Your card details are entered directly into Square's secure payment form and go straight to Square — they never touch or get stored on our servers. We receive only a confirmation of payment and a payment reference ID. Square's handling of your payment information is governed by Square's own privacy policy.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We don't send marketing emails or texts unless you've asked us to.
We run a small number of ads on Facebook and Instagram, and we use Meta's measurement tools to learn which ads actually lead to bookings — it's how we keep our ad spending sensible. Two tools are involved:
We use this strictly to measure our own advertising — never to sell or rent your information. You can opt out of personalized ads in your Meta ad preferences or at aboutads.info, and the site and booking work exactly the same either way — including with an ad blocker on.
Only the services needed to run the business: Square (payment processing), our website hosting provider (where booking records are stored), our email delivery provider (which sends booking confirmations and gift-card emails), and Meta — solely for the advertising measurement described above. Appointment details are also visible to the owner-operator through a private business calendar. That's the whole list — no data brokers, and your information is never sold.
The Meta Pixel described above sets Meta's advertising-measurement cookies (such as _fbp). Beyond that, we set no advertising cookies of our own. The booking page briefly uses your browser's local storage to carry your confirmation details from the payment step to the confirmation screen — that data stays on your device.
Booking records are retained as part of our business records — for scheduling, tax, and accounting purposes. If you'd like your information removed, contact us and we'll delete what we're not legally required to keep.
You can contact us at any time to ask what information we have about you, request a copy of it in a readable format to keep or take elsewhere, request a correction, or request deletion. Reach us at Austin.b.slate@gmail.com or (406) 595-2391 — we'll respond within 30 days, and deletion requests are honored except for records we're legally required to keep (such as payment records for tax purposes).
Our services and website are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on the booking page.
